State Conference Results 2017
The Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton played host to 2300 of Wisconsin’s Future Business Leaders on April 2-4. 35 Nekoosa High
School students, chaperones Al & Carolyn Crider, and Adviser Jen Jackson were among those in attendance at the annual State Leadership Conference.
Our local chapter was well represented and turned in some fine results in their events, three individuals doing so well that they has earned a trip to the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California in June. Elizabeth Henriksen (Electronic Career Portfolio), Garrett Heuer (Cyber Security) and Nick Humphrey (Computer Problem Solving) will take their skills to the National Conference and compete to try and be the best in the country. The conference was also a farewell for Senior Mackenzie Boivin who has spent the last two years leading Wisconsin FBLA as a state officer. Boivin has worked hard to start the Wisconsin FBLA Instagram page and to increase membership across the state and Region II.
2017 was a year to remember as it was the largest chapter membership we have had, the most state qualifiers, and earned the special 75th Anniversary Diamond Award for FBLA. Nekoosa was one of only seven Wisconsin chapters to do so.
